Updated links!

Yeah!!! We were finally able to update our links between the webpages on our website which also allowed us to finally get rid of the that annoying 20% off page. All of the links work between the pages so people won't find dead ends some of the menu bars are off a bit but they all work! Whew!

Sorry no 20% discount still stands

That darn old web page is still popping up showing a 20% discount so we are trying to block it again. Hopefully setting up new links to the current pages that are 10% will work

Only 1 room left for Christmas time

There is only 1 kitty room left for Dec 22-27th. Last year we booked out in April now it looks as if we will be booked even sooner. I have also purchased a larger sewing machine so I can start making thicker kitty beds. My old machine couldn't handle more then 1/2 an inch of material to sew through and this one should be able to handle at least twice as much! Yeah!

Web design is such a temperamental thing when you don't know what you are doing. We have updated our home page to let everyone know that we will only honor the current discount listed. We will also be updating our current web site software to something newer than 2008 versions.

For some reason old web pages keep coming up that show a 20% discount for first time clients. This is no longer offered and the first time client discount is 10%

First time client discounts at The Purring Parrot

Hello Everyone,
Yes, this blog has been inactive since 2011. Times have been so busy for us that our blog fell to the way side. Recently we had a first time client call to book and asked about our 20% discount. We changed this discount to 10% about a year ago but for some reason some search engines are still showing a 20% discount because of this blog and old links, etc. Said client insisted quite strongly we honor what we found and sent us an email showing us the page. There was also another page that had the discount on it using a font we have never used before. We aren't sure what is going on but are here to state that we will only honor a 10% first time client discount.
We were able to look up old web pages that looked current but were for quite sometime ago. We don't even have this blog on our website. Said client suggested that if we updated our blog this would update those pages. We'll see if this works and if it doesn't then dump this blog. Happy New Year!

So many changes since the last post

I cannot believe our last post was May of 2010. I swear there is a time warp at the resort and time flies by at such so fast.
We have had so much growth in the past 6 months. For cats we have added more ramps to many of the rooms, an aquarium for the Under the Sea room and welcomed many new guest over the summertime and holidays.
The bird area has been even busier with Patrick building more stands for bird clients, new toys, cooked mixes such as a Tropical blend, Ginger curry blend and an Italian pasta blend. One of our new breads are some multigrain muffins made with honey dates and our cooked grains.
We are also cutting and coloring our own wood and our customers love the funky shapes. Our bulk toy making section has grown quite a bit too.
Some of our goals for 2011 are a 2nd web cam in the Aviary, more bird recipes as well as toys. Getting our food products analyzed. Building frames around the window rooms so we can remove the wiring. More room connections and redesigning for optimum kitty comfort. Our own line of cat trees and loads of marketing with a PDF catalog and start up wholesale to get our products more well known. A video tour of the resort and more vacation videos as well as a photo album.
We also want to stress that we use local producers for 100% of all our bird food products and about 75% for all of our other products. Most everything we have or sell is made in the USA.
All of our updates we have done couldn't have happened without the support of our clients, their cats, birds and trusting us to care for them. We would like to thank everyone that has had an opportunity to experience The Purring Parrot and hope they keep on coming in and be part of our continued growth for 2011.
Lastly, I will try and do monthly updates and if that fails will try really hard at quarterly updates.
